"The Light and the Glory gives us new appreciation and inspiration to fulfill God's plan for us as a nation."Bill Bright
"America, America, God shed His grace on thee. . . ."
Did Columbus believe that God called him west to undiscovered lands? Does American democracy owe its inception to the handful of Pilgrims that settled at Plymouth? If, indeed, there was a specific, divine call upon this nation, is it still valid today?
The Light and the Glory answers these questions, and many, many more. As we look at our nation's history from God's point of view, we begin to have an idea of how much we owe a very fewand how much is still at stake.
Peter Marshall has gained national recognition as a preacher and teacher on Christian maturity. Currently he conducts a traveling and speaking ministry in various churches across America. A graduate of Yale University and Princeton Theological Seminary, he formerly served as pastor of the East Dennis Community Church on Cape Cod. He is the son of the late Senate Chaplain of the same name and the best-selling author Catherine Marshall.
David Manuel is the author of LIKE A MIGHTY RIVER and THE JESUS FACTOR, and coauthor of BABUNIA, with Bill Basansky, and WALKING AND LEAPING, with Merlin Carothers. He holds a B.A. in English from Yale University.
